International audienceThe archaeological area of Barāqish, including the extra muros sanctuaries of Shaqab al-Manaṣṣa and Darb aṣ-Ṣabī, yielded an exceptional amount of pre-Islamic South Arabian inscriptions. Over 600 texts provide us with an insight into the political, social, and economic history of the ancient kingdoms of Sabaʾ and Maʿīn.This contribution draws up an inventory of the inscriptions from the site and considers this corpus under the angle of ancient toponymy, cultural and architectural history. The examination of the textual content, once put in chronological order, allows for the identification of a set of ancient monuments, the date of their construction, thus highlighting the monumental evolution of the site.
