Background: The return to sport is one of the predominant objectives of the sports patients after a rupture of the anterior cruciate ligament. Literature mentions many criteria how to make RTS a key objective and when to allow RTS. However, iterative injuries even new injuries still occur and several athletes fail to return to their sport at the previous level. Other factors such as psychological factors have therefore been studied for the past ten years to see if these impact RTS.
