Borrowing Word and Its Procedure Of Literature Terminology In Teori Kesusastraan Book Translated By Melani Budianta

In this research, the focus on borrowing word type and translation procedure in Teori Kesusastraan by Melani Budianta, it is translated from Theory of Literature by Rene Wellek and Austin Warren. The writer uses descriptive qualitative method. The words are analyzed by selecting and classifying the word into types of borrowing. The writer also analyses the translation procedure that applied in that borrowing word. To support the research, the writer uses some dictionaries both English literary term and Indonesian literary term to find the meaning. The writer finds eleven selected borrowing words from English into Indonesian literary term. First, only one word of loanword type; second, seven words of loanblend type; and third, three words of loanshift type. Then, the writer finds three translation procedures of the borrowing words. The translation procedures are transference with three words, naturalization with seven words and shift or transpotition with one word. Therefore, loanblend as type of borrowing word and naturalization of translation procedure are the most found in this research since the change of borrowing words follow the Indonesian rules. From this research, the writer suggests to the readers to learn and discuss about borrowing words in order to know these have changes or same in meaning, spelling and pronunciation which are taken from other language.ix, 45 hlm; ilus
