The title of this study is "Teaching Modal Auxiliary Verbs through Dialogs. It is an experimental study done for three weeks at SMP Negeri 18 Banda Aceh. The aims of this study are (l) to know whether the students of SMP Negeri 18 Banda Aceh can get better in studying modal auxiliary verbs by using dialogs, and (2) to find out if the dialogs can motivate students in studying modal auxiliary verbs. Some modals used in this research are will, would, can, could, may, might, shall, should, and must. The population of this study was the students from the second grade of SMP Negeri 18 Banda Aceh in academic year 2008-2009.
