The purpose of the study is to find out whether teaching speaking by using communicative language teaching will be effective to increase students' speaking skill. The population of this study is the first year students of MTsN Rukoh Darussalam. There are five classes for the first year, namely I1, 12, 13, l4, and 15. As the sample, the researcher selected two classes, 12 and 13. The l was an experimental class and 13 was a control class. The total number of the sample was 32 students.
