This master thesis presents a research affiliated to the Master’s Degree Program in Education from the Federal University of Pelotas. The investigation has taken place in a school for the deaf in Rio Grande do Sul, and had the objective of analyzing disciplining and schooling practices that were registered in photographic media, and the look upon these images allowed the analysis of the constitution of the schooling space. The methodology was constituted of visits to the institution, and the approximation to its photographic acquis, in which 64 images were selected, with a temporal clipping between the years of 1960 to 2005.
