Knowledge and practices of mothers in the care of children with chicken pox

The study used non-experimental, quantitative, descriptive type of research design where it described data and characteristics about the population of phenomenon being studied. A total of 100 respondents were included in the study and were chosen using convenience sampling. The researchers utilized a self-made tool. Data was analysed using frequency of distribution, percentage, mean, standard deviation, f-test, and t-test. Most of the respondents were mothers ages 36-40 years old, college graduate, and has a family income of below Php10,000.00. Mothers were knowledgeable in caring their children with chicken pox. Results revealed that practices in the care of children with chicken pox were frequently done by the mothers. There was no significant difference in the knowledge and practices of mothers in the care of children with chicken pox when grouped according to age, educational attainment and monthly income. There was high significance between the knowledge and practices of mothers in the care of children with chicken pox
