Perception and attitude of Grade 10 student towards radiologic technology as a paramedical course

Grade 10 students were the respondents and taken from the top feeder schools of De La Salle Health Sciences Institute Radiologic Technology Program in Cavite. The gender and type of school of the respondents were the variables. The researchers used the correlation research design for the analysis and interpretation of the gathered data. A total of 368 respondents were randomly selected. A self-made questionnaire was used in the study to gather the perception and attitude of Grade 10 students towards radiologic technology as a paramedical course. The data obtained was treated using the following tools: mean, percentage, standard deviation, independent t-test and chi-square test. Based on the findings of the study, the following conclusions were drawn: 1) most of the respondents were female and from a public school; 2) the respondents\u27 overall perception towards radiologic technology as a paramedical course achieved a satisfactory result since over-all perception of the respondents is verbally interpreted as positive. However, the statement “Radiologic Technology assures students job stability and will never be out of employment” obtained the lowest mean score value; 3) most of the respondents would consider taking radiologic technology as a paramedical course; 4) the respondents\u27 gender and type of school have a significant difference on their perception towards radiologic technology as a paramedical course. Respondents who are female and from a public school had a more positive perception towards radiologic technology as a paramedical course than male and from a private school; 5) the respondents\u27 gender and type of school have no significant difference on their attitude towards radiologic technology as a paramedical course; 6) there are no significant differences between the respondents\u27 perception and their attitude towards radiologic technology as a paramedical course. The results revealed that regardless of their perception, they had the same attitude towards radiologic technology as a paramedical course
