Knowledge and extent of compliance on infection control guidelines of radiologic technologists in selected hospitals in Cavite.

Age, gender and length of work experience of the radiologic technologists were the socio-demographic factors included in the study that employed a correlational research method. Using quota sampling technique, it included 120 radiologic technologists in selected hospitals in Cavite. A self-made research instrument with questions showing the knowledge and extent of compliance of radiologic technologists on infection control guidelines and measures were used. Data gathered from the respondents was analyzed using frequency, percentage, mean, t-test for independent means, Analysis of Variance (ANOVA), Mann-Whitney Test, and Kruskall Wallis H-test for independent samples and Spearman\u27s Rank Correlation Coefficient. Based on the results, 1) most of the respondents are female, 19-30 years old and have 1-3 years of work experience; 2) the knowledge on standard precautions and cleaning and disinfection are good, while knowledge about transmission-based precautions are very good and in general, the over-all knowledge of the respondents are also good; 3) the respondents have very high compliance, with standard precautions, transmission-based precautions and cleaning and disinfection and infection control guidelines in general; 4) the knowledge on infection control guidelines of the respondents are the same regardless of their age, gender and length of work experience; 5) the extent of compliance on infection control guidelines of the respondents is the same regardless of their age, gender and length of work experience; 6) there is no significant correlation between knowledge and extent of compliance on infection control guidelines of the respondents
