Correlation of emotional intelligence to the clinical performance of radiologic technology interns S.Y. 2013-2014.

The study utilized correlational research design in the analysis and interpretation of the results of the study. Using purposive sampling, a total of 64 respondents participated in the study. The researchers gained the approval to used the Trait Emotional Intelligence Questionnaire Version 1.50 Short Form from Dr. Konstantin Vasily “Dino” Petrides of the Institute of Education at University of London to measure the emotional intelligence of the respondents. The statistical treatment used in the study is mean, frequency, percentage, independent t-test and Pearson product-moment correlation coefficient. Based on the results, the majority of the respondents are female. The respondent, in general, have a slightly above average emotional intelligence. Different factors or facets of emotional intelligence revealed that the respondent’s well-being and independent facet are above average and emotionality, sociability and self-control factors are slightly above average. The clinical performance of the respondents is very good. The emotional intelligence and clinical performance of the respondents does not vary when they are grouped according to gender.
