The primary objective of the study was to determine the secondary metabolites through phytochemical screening and determine the antibacterial property by using MIC of the ethanolic leaf extracts of Musa acuminata. In this research, the ethanolic leaf extracts of the selected plant sample was tested for the following secondary metabolites: alkaloids, flavonoids, tannins, saponins, glycosides and terpenes. The antibacterial assay of the fractionated leaf extract, using three different solvents with their increasing polarity, namely ethyl acetate, acetone and methanol was tested against a gram-positive bacterium (Staphylococcus aureus) a gram-negative bacterium (Escherichia coli).
