The researchers used a cohort type of study. The medical residents of DLSUMC was divided into strata based on their exposure to stress and were identified using simple random sampling. Three residents were randomly selected from each department. Respondents, both the exposed and unexposed groups were given questionnaire on a monthly basis. The Perceived Stress Scale (PSS) and Jefferson Scale of Physician Empathy served as data collection tools for the level of stress and empathy, respectively.
