The spatial-temporal variation of seaweeds biodiversity was evaluated in one part of the coral reef in the Havana coastal zone, from June 2008 to December 2009. The minimal area, the species number, Relative Abundance and the dominant morpho-functional groups of algae were determined. A number of 81 species of algae were found. Temporal and spatial variations were found with respect to the number of species, the Relative Abundance and the coverage of morpho-functional groups. The dominant morpho-functional groups were the sheet, filamentous and jointed calcareous groups in rocky plane and only jointed calcareous group in the slope.
