Poverty is a prevalent problem the Philippines is experiencing. In determining the effectiveness of the projects implemented by each president\u27s administration, poverty rates in both urban and rural areas are monitored over time. Joinpoint regression was used to detect points in time when significant changes in the direction of the trends in poverty occurred. Tests of parallelism and coincidence were conducted on the two fitted joinpoint regressions and their respective average quarterly percent changes (AQPCs) were compared. The joinpoint regression model was fitted to NCR, Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao Self-Rated Poverty rates. There were two joinpoints for both the NCR and Mindanao models, one joinpoint for Visayas and none for Luzon. ...
