This thesis presents a simple proof of the uniqueness of the decomposition of finite abelian groups. Finite abelian groups, which are also known as finite commutative groups, are discussed in basic abstract algebra courses with some depth. All the theorems stated in this paper are found in F.S. Cater\u27s paper entitled Uniqueness of the Decomposition of Finite Abelian Groups: A Simple Proof . The researchers elaborated the definitions, concepts, and examples needed to have a further understanding of the concepts discussed in this paper
