Optical Music Recognition (OMR) is the extraction of data from a musical piece. This process allows recognition of music notations from digital copies of music sheets and from there its features and musical parameters can be identified and stored accordingly. This process helped musician and learners to be able to easily identify and read musical notes in a music sheet. This research proposes simple OMR software that detects and extracts information from a digital image of a music sheet and also be able to play its audio in a MIDI format. The software will only be able to accept piano pieces with the fundamental and most commonly used musical symbols such as a whole note, half note, and quarter note. The proposed approach is based on the ex...
