The Philippines and Thailand\u27s utilization of official development funds: A comparative analysis

Japanese official development assistance has been around since after the Second World War. Japan has distributed its aid through loans, grants and technical assistance. In this study, the researchers studied and analyzed two cases of ODA distribution, the case of the Philippine and the case of Thailand as a recipient of Japanese official development assistance. Using these cases, the researchers were able to find answers on how did these countries utilized Japans official development assistance from 1970s up to 1992 considering that there are other factors involved in the utilization process, which made the utilization complex. The use of the rational theory allowed the researchers to view the utilization of the two countries in an independent level
