The concentrations of lead in the vital organs of rabbits (Oryctolagus cuniculus) exposed to a sublethal concentration of 202.5 mg/kg of lead nitrate for a period of two weeks was determined using atomic absorption spectrophotometry. The eight organs analyzed showed accumulation of lead in mg/kg: liver (14.467 + 0.001) kidneys (11.667 + 0.001) small intestine (9.900 + 0.001) large intestine (5.600 + 0.003) stomach (4.300 + 0.002) heart (3.933 + 0.002) lungs (3.633 + 0.002) muscle (3.000 + -0.001). Significant differences in lead concentration between experimental and control groups were noted in all the organs analyzed. The difference between control replicates and between treated replicates was not significant
