One major problem among the rural areas of the Philippines is the absence of electricity in their communities. This impedes the country in advancing towards becoming a newly industrialized country. The construction of micro-hydroelectric power plant is the most feasible solution to this problem. Water has been one of the cheapest resources available in the country due to its archipelagic geography. Aside from this, the cost involved is less expensive compared to the construction of other types of power plants, i.e. geothermal, fossil fueled or nuclear power plants.
