This study aimed to examine two variables: Trait Emotional Intelligence and Suicide Ideation as a symptom of depression. The researchers first explored the participants\u27 Trait EI through the Schutte Self-Report Emotional Intelligence Scale, which measured the four domains of Trait EI: Optimism/Mood regulation, Appraisal of Emotions, Social Skills, and Utilization of Emotions. Each of these domains corresponded to a subscale in the SSEIS: managing Own Emotions, Perception of Emotion, Managing Others\u27 Emotions, and Utilization of Emotion, respectively.
