Job satisfaction and job dissatisfaction of certified public accountans in the academe among the univesities in Manila using Herzberg\u27s motivator-hygiene theory

Frederick Herzberg did not view satisfaction and dissatisfaction as opposites. The factors causing satisfaction are called motivators while factors causing dissatisfaction are termed hygiene. The former is related to the job itself while latter is to the environment surrounding the job. Applying that particular framework, this research determined which particular factors cause the satisfaction and dissatisfaction of Certified Public Accountants (CPA) teaching in the different universities in Manila. Job satisfaction surveys were distributed and it was found out that fringe benefits, operating procedures, and pay were the main dissatisfies while nature of work was the sole satisfier. Significant differences between the demographics of respondents were also analyzed and recommendations were made for each stakeholder
