This thesis is based of the article entitled On Square-Rooting Matrices by Nigel H. Scott [14]. It is mainly a discussion of a procedure in finding the square roots of 2 x 2 matrix. The procedure includes solving for the eigenvalues, eigenvectors and using diagnalization of matrices. We also created a computer program developed in Dev C++. The program is a hands-on experience on the subject matter
