A preliminary taxonomic survey of marine gastropods and bivalve shells in Panukulan, Polilio Island, Quezon

The shell collection was done during the months of July, August, and September, 1993 at Panukulan, Polilio Island, Quezon. Three hundred shells were collected within the distance of 200-500 meters from the shoreline. All the shells collected were alive. Identification of the shells were done using taxonomic keys by: Springsteen and Leobrera (1986), Dance (1974), Linder (1977), and Spencer (1959) and verification was done by the Conchology Department of the National Museum. The molluscan shells identified belong to thirty-three families, forty-five genera and seventy-four species
