Over the past decades, rigorous efforts have been made by researchers to seek alternative models of motivation which may be more accurately relevant and appropriate to the various settings in which English is learned. With regard to this issue, Dornyei (2009) conceptualized L2 Motivational Self System theory focusing on the self-concept of the learner that subsumes three components specifically, Ideal l2 self, Ought-to l2, and L2 learning experience.
