Three actinomycete isolates were obtained from ten vegetable refuse collected from Divisoria Public Market and decomposed prior to isolation using Glycerol Yeast Extract Agar (GYEA) as culture medium. Colonial, microscopic, and physiological characterizations revealed a close relationship between 0001 and 0003 actinomycete isolates. Screening for anti-microbial properties involving two variations of the modified Kirby-Bauer Disc Diffusion Method against four each of Gram (+), Gram (-), and fungal test organisms suggested a weak anti-microbial activity of isolated actinomycetes
