Personal computers present an attractive, low cost solution to parallel and concurrent problems through networked and distributed computing. Several issues need to be resolved before the true potentials of distributed systems can be realized. This thesis presents an elegant solution to global memory management through object oriented hierarchies. It also provides the framework for a flexible programming interface in which the solution can be applied
