Seaweeds collected from Lian, Batangas are analyzed for their metal contents using Differential Pulse Anodic Stripping Voltammetry (DPASV). Careful consideration of some factors are observed during collection time so that the determined metal contents of these seaweeds could be related to their ability to absorb these metals from the medium, seawater. Finally, the specificity/selectivity of the different seaweeds towards metal absorption is established. DPASV, one of the most sensitive voltammetric methods, was employed in the analysis of Zn, Cd, Pb, and Cu. Suitable working conditions were determined and then applied in the analysis.
