Their inherent efficiency generally results in reduced emissions and environmental impacts compared to stand-alone systems. However, rigorous mathematical modeling approaches need to be used for the synthesis of such systems. In this work, a fuzzy mixed-integer linear programming (FMILP) model is proposed for the optimal design of a polygeneration plant with cyclic loads.
