Nomination for President Commemorative Medal (from The Life of Lincoln Medallic Biography Collection)

The medal\u27s obverse features a design after Lloyd Ostendorf\u27s original artwork that depicts Lincoln accepting the Republican nomination for President of the United States. On the reverse, a short excerpt from his letter of acceptance to George Ashmun, President of the 1860 Republican National Convention, appears. A laurel wreath borders the lower half of the medal. The medal is mounted in a leather slipcase album, which is Volume II of a two-volume set.
