Women at War (from the History of the Civil War Medal Collection)

The medal\u27s obverse design depicts a portrait image of an unidentified woman serving as a Civil War nurse. In the medal\u27s background, several scenes are depicted where women are shown caring for soldiers wounded in battle. On the reverse, Confederate and United States flags are pictured intersecting at the top of the medal. Several rifles appear behind the flags, and the image of an eagle is placed at the center of the intersection.
