This study was aimed to find out whether any significant effect of using animation video between before and after giving treatment in the experimental class. This research used quasi experimental design with pre-test and post-test design. The population of this research was the eight grade student at SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Kota Jambi. The sample of this research divided into two classes, they were experimental and control class. The experimental class was taught by using animation video as media, meanwhile control class just using audio. Before giving the treatment, the students of both classes were given a pre-test to know their ability in listening comprehension.
