STRATEGI PUSTAKAWAN DALAM MENINGKATKAN MINAT BACA SISWA DI PERPUSTAKAAN SMK NEGERI I SAROLANGUN

This study discusses the efforts of librarians in increasing students reading interest in the library of SMK Negeri I Sarolangun. This research was conducted in the library of SMK Negeri I Sarolangun. The main discussion of this thesis is how the librarian’s efforts in reading, and what are the obstacles faced in increasing reading interest in the library of SMK Negeri I Sarolangun. This study uses a qualitative method. Technical data collection using interviews, observation, documentation, and data analysis. The informants in this study were the head of the librarian. The result of this research is that the efforts made by the librarians of SMK Negeri I Sarolangun have a very positive effect on a library. Where the efforts made by librariants reading interest are: choosing interesting reading materials for library users, giving library users the freedom to read freely, managing the library well so that users feel at home and often visit the library that reading is important for life, especially achieving school success, providing conveni ence in obtaining reading materials in collaboration with teacher.
