PSYCHOPATHIC BEHAVIOR OF THE MAIN CHARACTER IN GILLIAN FLYNN’S GONE GIRL NOVEL

This study discusses Psychopathic Behavior of the Main Character in Gillian Flynn's Gone Girl Novel. This study aims to determine the behavior, and effects on people closest to psychopaths. The research data is taken from the novel Gone Girl. The data were clarified by using psychopathy theory. In this study the author uses two theories to answer the formulation of the problem, the first is the theory of Steven Verstapen, the second is the theory of Robert D Hare. This study used descriptive qualitative method. The research findings show that first, there are six psychopathic behaviors towards the main character, namely: Manipulating, impulsive behavior, lack of remorse, low anxiety levels, lack of empathy, and cheating and lying. The second is the impact of psychopathic behavior on those closest to them, namely: murder, lack of sense of responsibility
