THE RACISM ISSUES AS SEEEN IN A UNITED KINGDOM MOVIE BY AMMA ASANTE

In this study, researcher analyzes a romance-drama movie written by Guy Hibbert and directed by Amma asante entitled A United Kindom. This movie tells the story of racism between Seretse Khama as a black people with whites people and controversial marriage to a British white girl. Therefore the researcher entitled this research with “The Racism Issues as Seen In A United Kingdom Movie by Amma Asante”. In this study, the researcher had found out that: (1) The racism issues in that movie, and (2) The impacts of racism. Design of this research was qualitative descriptive research. The researcher used two theories to analyze the data, racism from George M. Fredickson (2005), and Paul C. Rosenblatt (2014) as a guideline to answer the research questions of problem formulation. Sociological approach also used in this research. In collecting the data, the researcher used technique of documentation. The technique used in analyzing the data in this study was a descriptive technique. The results of this research are; 1) There are three issues of racism depicted in A United Kingdom Movie by Amma Asante; (a) Prejudice, (b) Discrimination, and (c) Segregation. 2) The impact of racism, the main character in the movie went through three emotions; (a) Grief, (b) Rage, and (c) Humili ation
