THE EFFECT OF LEXICAL COLLOCATION ON STUDENTS' READING COMPREHENSION ACHIEVEMENT AT ISLAMIC SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL RAUDHATUL MUHAJIRIN MUARO JAMBI

The objectives of this study were to find out wheter or not there is significant improvement on students’ reading comprehension achievement after being taught by using lexical collocation. The method of this reseacrh is quantitative research. The design of the research is pre-experimental. The sample of this research was 20 students at tenth grade students. The data were collected by using reading test. The result of the analysis indicated that the mean score of post-test (67,75) is higher than pre-test (43,15). so that Ha was accepted. It means, that there was an improvement of students’ reading comprehension achievement after giving treatment. Next, the researcher had computed that the score of tobtained > ttable (8,852 > 2,093) and significant 2-tailed < 0,05 (0,000 < 0,05). So, Ha was accepted. It means that Lexical Collocation has an effect to the student’s reading comprehension
