THE EFFECT OF FIX-UP STRATEGY ON STUDENTS READING COMPREHENSION AT MADRASAH TSANAWIYAH NURUL IHSAN PENINJAUAN BATANGHARI

ABSTRACT Name : Ari Irawansyah Major : English Education Study Title : The Effect of Fix-Up Strategy on Students Reading Comprehension At Madrasah Tsanawiyah Nurul Ihsan Peninjauan. This study aimed to find out the effect of fix-up strategy on students reading comprehension at Madrasah Tsanawiyah Nurul Ihsan Peninjauan, this research was quantitative research and it was conducted by using quasi experimental design with nonequivalent control group design. To find the effect after students use the fix-up strategy in their reading habits. To find out the deep difference between students who use the fix-up strategy and those who do not. The subject of his research was 41 students, 20 students in experimental class and 21 students in control class. The result of the analysis indicated that the mean of post test score (71,42) was higher than the mean of pre test (40,95). So tha Ha was accepted. It means there was a significant effect of fix-up strategy after giving treatment. Next, the writer had computed that the score of t-test ≥ ttable (2,47 ≥ 1,23). So,Ha was accepted. It means, there was a different between those who are taught by using fix-up strategy and those who are not at eight grade of Madrasah Tsanawiyah Nurul Ihsan Peninjauan
