The Grass is Singing is the novel written by Doris Lessing which was a successful debut novel, published in 1950. The novel presents the vivid account of the social life of the people living there and deals with the racial politics between the whites and the blacks in that country. The novel is indeed a brilliant exploration of the oppressed and the oppressor evoking an incredible sense of place.
