Abstract According to Oxford English Dictionary, Euthansia means the painless killing of a patient suffering from an incurable and painful disease or a person who is in irreversible coma. Euthansia is described as the deliberate and interstitial killing of a person for the benefit of that person in order to relive him from pain and suffering. According to the British House of Lords Select committee on Medical Ethics, it is defined as a deliberate intervention undertaken with the expressed intention of ending a life, to relive intractable suffering.
