“#BlackGayStoriesMatter” is a collection of nine short stories that explore the intersection of being black, gay and male in the age of social media. Each story is set in different predominately black cities and plays with stereotypes as well as genre conventions to add the black gay male perspective to various types of traditional stories. The narration layers humor, culture, and character to stand firm in its unapologetic truth. The unique texture of the storytelling hinges on its sharp dissection of race, identity, class and sexuality to fully confront realities about African American queer masculinity that are rarely discussed.
