1947 edition of the Messick High School, Memphis, Tennessee, yearbook, The Panther . Messick High School was built in 1908 on the corner of Spottswood Avenue and Greer Street. The school was named after Elizabeth Messick who was the superintendent of Shelby County Schools from 1904 to 1908.
