A quasi-experimental study was used to study the effect of plush animals on depression in elderly nursing home residents. The researcher hypothesized that there would be no significant difference between depression prior to and following plush animal therapy. There were four subjects who each selected a plush animal, kept it with them for 5 weeks, and were then retested using the Beck Depression Inventory. The results of the ^ test led the researcher to reject the null hypothesis. Plush animal therapy was effective in treating depression for those elderly nursing home residents
