Principales epidemias que azotaron el Perú en la época del Virreinato según las Tradiciones peruanas de Ricardo Palma

This article will analyse the stories «Un cerro que tiene historia», «Muerte en vida» and «Los polvos de la condesa». It is proposed that in these texts Ricardo Palma describes the various epidemics that occurred between the 17th and 18th centuries, causing the death of thousands of people. It also shows the discoveries in medicine resulting from these events, as well as the use of vaccines in the eradication of epidemics.El presente artículo analizará las tradiciones «Un cerro que tiene historia», «Muerte en vida» y «Los polvos de la condesa». Se propone que en estos textos Ricardo Palma da a conocer las diversas epidemias vividas entre los siglos XVII y XVIII, causando la muerte de miles de personas. También se muestran los descubrimientos en medicina producto de estos hechos; además del uso de las vacunas frente a la erradicación de las epidemias
