TOXICIDAD DEL LODO DE PERFORACIÓN MINERA EN EL BIOINDICADOR PORCELLIO LAEVIS (LATREILLE, 1804) (CRUSTACEA: ISOPODA)

The toxicity of mining drilling mud was evaluated based on the lethal effect and evasion in the terrestrial bioindicator Porcellio laevis (Latreille, 1804). The following treatments were considered: drilling mud, suspended phase of drilling mud and mining drilling fluid in acute toxicity tests and short evasion test. Toxicity tests did not show a lethal effect in drilling mud, in the suspended phase of drilling mud, and in mineral drilling fluid in P. laevis. In the evasion tests, considering uncontrolled humidity conditions, it was observed that there was a preference for P. laevis towards the land with the presence of drilling mud. However, considering controlled humidity conditions, the preference of P. laevis towards the muddy land was confirmed. The results of this investigation allow documenting a protocol to evaluate the toxicity of mining drilling muds and serve as a reference for future investigations in Peru. Se consideraron los siguientes tratamientos: lodo de perforación, fase suspendida del lodo de perforación y fluido de perforación minera en ensayos de toxicidad aguda y prueba de evasión de corta duración. Los ensayos de toxicidad no mostraron un efecto letal en el lodo de perforación, en la fase suspendida del lodo de perforación y en el fluido de perforación minera en P. laevis. En las pruebas de evasión, considerando condiciones de humedad no controladas se observó que hubo preferencia de P. laevis hacia la tierra con presencia del lodo de perforación. Sin embargo, considerando condiciones de humedad controladas se confirmó la preferencia de los P. laevis hacia la tierra con lodo. Los resultados de la presente investigación permiten documentar un protocolo para evaluar la toxicidad de los lodos de perforación minera y sirven como referente para futuras investigaciones en el Perú.
