The article analyses the relationships between television programming and cinema in Uruguay during the sixties, taking into account the discussions about cultural links that television film broadcasts generated in Latin America. From media history and sociology of culture perspective, the article analyses speeches of specialized critics and politicians with the objective to identify the heritage that appears in them from previously debates raised in relation to cinema and the evaluations and positions they assumed regarding cultural Latin Americans traits that appear in movies.
