En tiempos adversos: el pensamiento crítico latinoamericano como trinchera de los derechos humanos

In this paper we will reflect on the socio-political processes that we are experiencing in South America (the advance of the right wing). What we will try to do is to think (in broad lines) about the so-called progressive turn and how these projects began to lose support as we entered the second decade of the 21st Century. We will especially think about its limits and how the logics of capital remained or deepened and this has led -we consider- to the reinforcement of the dictatorship of the market. In this reality, critical thinking could be a trench for human rights and provide tools to reflect and act having as the main goal a future where life rather than capital prevails.En este trabajo reflexionaremos sobre los procesos socio-políticos que estamos viviendo en Sudamérica (avance de las derechas). Lo que se intentará hacer es pensar (en grandes líneas) el denominado giro progresista y cómo dichos proyectos comenzaron a perder apoyo entrando en la segunda década del siglo XXI. Especialmente pensaremos sus límites y cómo las lógicas del capital permanecieron o se profundizaron y esto ha llevado –consideramos- a reforzar la dictadura del mercado. En esta realidad, el pensamiento crítico podría ser una trinchera para los derechos humanos y brindar herramientas para reflexionar y actuar teniendo como horizonte un futuro en donde prime la vida y no el capital.
