The thesis was originated by the important background which was needed to improve students’ speaking ability in the English learning at MTsN 2 Padangsidimpuan. Students’ achievement is low, the lack of students’ self-confidents and the using of un-appropriate technique. Solving those problems, researcher conducted classroom action research by using Think-Pair-Share technique to improve students’ speaking ability. This research used class action research (CAR) approach to describe the improvement of speaking ability and to explain the influencing factors of students’ speaking ability.
