We propose a design of a metamaterial based sensor to be used in various applications including micro-fluid, strain and rotation sensing. The structure has a simple geometry composed of a single circular split ring resonator (CSRR) and it is possible to adjust the resonance frequency in the region of desired band. The resonance frequency is carefully selected so that the materials to be sensed have linear dielectric curves at that particular frequency range which iscrucial to design accurate sensing characteristic.
