This paper examines an implication of depeasantisation for rural community in a case study of Dikmen in Turkey, which has faced depopulation, agricultural decline and impoverishment during the last decade. The analysis of 171 household data and the qualitative data obtained from in-depth interviews with 27 women show that the villagers are depeasantised and apparently marginalised. However, while some villagers live under multiple deprivations, some challenge geographical disadvantages by investing their meagre earnings on transportation and communication technologies. An ongoing-process is a reconfiguration of marginality within the community rather than a total marginalisation of depeasantised villagers
