Diabetes mellitus (DM) is a chronic disorder of carbohydrate, fat and protein metabolism, which is characterized by a defective insulin secretory response. Skeletal muscle takes role in determination of carbohydrate and lipid metabolism, therefore; it is one of the target tissues of diabetes.
