In the reform period which began at the end of the 1970s, China has recorded high economic growth. SOE reform has been among the significant reform areas. The overview of the stages of the SOE reform and the policies implemented in the last stage of the reform in the strategic industries of information technology, telecommunication and mining indicates that the target of China’s SOE reform has been strengthening and supporting the SOEs in order to improve the performance of the industry and increase the competitiveness of the economy in global markets, rather than eliminating the SOEs.Publisher's Versio
